Dear {First Name},

We want you to know that your efforts matter and your voices have been heard! In response to our call for increased child care funding, the Governor has agreed to a one-time increase of $124 million in next year’s budget. We know that’s not enough to fix the system — and state legislators are pushing for $200 million more in recurring funds to expand families' access to early care, while paying educators up to $20,000 per child. The next three weeks will determine the outcome.

The good news is that there’s still time to take action! Today and tomorrow we encourage you to join us on a critical day of action. The goal is to send as many messages as possible to lawmakers urging them to increase funding for child care. Check out this week’s newsletter to learn how you can get involved!

We stand with you in solidarity,

The All Our Kin Team

Take Action This Week!

Time is limited, but there’s still more to do as three way budget negotiations between the State House, Senate and Governor’s office begin today! Here are a few ways you can send a final message to lawmakers TODAY and TOMORROW across social media:

Share a photo of yourself or parents and their children holding homemade or pre-printed signs that read:

Be sure to tag Gov Ned Lamont on twitter and facebook, along with your state legislators. Then on Wednesday, we encourage you to follow the hashtag #ChildCareforCT to share and keep the conversation going!

If you aren’t on social media — you can still help! Call Governor Lamont at 860-566-4840 and state legislators using the script below:

"Hello, my name is ______ and I live in ______. Please support early childhood funding this year and lift the revenue cap to create an ongoing funding stream for child care. Thank you!” (You may be asked to leave a message.)
