National Surveyors Conference (AOLS AGM) Update
by Blain Martin, Executive Director

The National Surveyors Conference is only a few weeks away!!! It is shaping up to be a fabulous event with great speakers, great social events and great opportunities for networking. If you have not already signed up, you should do it now!!

Hotel Rooms
The hotel rooms are booking up and new conference registrants are having to move further and further from the Shaw Centre. At last check, there are still a few rooms left at the Andaz, which is a higher-end hotel. Les Suites and Lord Elgin seem to be the best choice for reasonable rates. Although the single rooms at Les Suites are gone, they have extended our block code for another week. The extension applies to their two bedroom suites. If you call a hotel and the code for our block is no longer honored, please let us know. I am not sure we can change it, but we will try.

Registration
The AOLS registration numbers are in line with expectations. The rates for registration change on February 12th, 2017, so there is not the same degree of urgency as there is in booking your accommodation. Regardless, it would be great if as many of you as possible could get your registration in place.

Simultaneous Interpretation
Each of the presentations that we have booked looks very interesting, and this event is totally bilingual with some presentations in English and others - in French. That said, there will be simultaneous interpretation for those of you who only speak one of our languages.

Sponsorship
This year we have received a tremendous amount of sponsorship, but there are still a few opportunities left. ACLS has always received a lot of sponsorship for their events from their member firms and that is happening this year too. The AOLS has a few firms that typically sponsor our events, but it would be great is some of the opportunities left were taken by our firms.

Exhibit Space
Like everything else at this event, the exhibit space has sold very quickly. But... there are a few booths left, so if you do want to exhibit, please visit the website below and get your name to our Event Сoordinator.
