Join APA California — Northern RAC-San Francisco on October 18, from 9:30–11:30 AM for a guided tour of San Francisco’s Transgender District, a six-block area in the Tenderloin known for its history of trans activism and artistry. Led by jj Dollarhide and Megan Rohrer, the tour highlights community resilience. Afterward, participants are invited to lunch and a discussion about Rohrer’s book on the district’s history.

The California Legislature adjourned on September 13, 2025, passing SB 415. This bill amends AB 98 (2024), giving jurisdictions more flexibility on warehouse standards, truck route requirements, and compliance timelines. SB 415 includes off-ramps and safe harbor provisions and awaits the Governor’s signature, with an effective date of January 1, 2026.

Northern’s mentorship program offers free one-on-one matching for planners at all experience levels. Registration is open with a deadline to submit as a mentor or mentee on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Mentorship matches will be announced in November, with the program running from November 2025 to June 2026. Click on the title above or image for more information and to register.
