Come and learn from API leaders and staffers when they reflect on their challenges and accomplishments as they represent the Asian Pacific American experience in different public service roles. Chapter Activities
APAPA - Austin Texas
APAPA - Austin Texas Chapter has been very busy and active over the last three months hosting workshops for youth development, volunteering in their community, hosting a toy drive to donate presents to undeserved children but most impressive was their work in voter registration and Census outreach.

APAPA - Austin Texas Chapter has been awarded a grant to help the API community get counted in the upcoming 2020 Census.

Keep up the good work, Austin Texas Chapter!
APAPA - North Texas
APAPA North Texas Chapter may be new but they are making waves in their community. Members have volunteered with "March To The Poll" to encourage high school students to engage more in politics and participated in the 2020 Dallas Women's March.

Keep taking small steps to engage with your community!
APAPA - Ohio
Members from the APAPA - Ohio Chapter have been working hard.

They have met with Ohio State Judges to discuss how to engage the API Community in the future, especially for the 2020 year, hosted its leadership meeting with all its local chapters to review the 2019 year, but most importantly, the Ohio Chapter hosted an event to help High School students transition to college.
APAPA - Solano County
APAPA - Solano County Chapter co-sponsored Solano County Voters' Forum on January 9th. Interns assisted in timekeeping and live streaming. During the Buckingham Vendor Fair, the chapter also helped discuss college planning, finances and the 2020 Census.
APAPA - U.C. Davis
APAPA at U.C. Davis has been taking big strides in developing its chapter and paving the way for more college chapters. The students of APAPA U.C. Davis held an event in November where California State Technology Information Officer, Amy Tong, gave insight into possible careers as well as leadership development.
APAPA - Tri Valley Chapter
2019 had been a very productive year with over 10 events organized by APAPA - Tri-Valley Chapter's committed Board members, advisors and committee members.

Starting early in February was the Chinese New Year Celebration community event in the City of Dublin followed by participation at the San Francisco annual Chinese New Year Parade. In May 2019, TVC hosted The State of API community forum to educate the community with the importance of civic engagement and political empowerment. Collaboration and mutual support with other area organizations included co-hosting a National Mental Health Awareness event with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Health); participation in the July 4th Independence Day Parade in Danville; and the National Night Out events in San Ramon and Dublin in appreciation of our local public service providers.

TVC is very committed to mentor and empowers our members in leadership development, especially our youths and young professionals. We had a very successful 2019 Summer Internship program from June to August 2019 with 18 interns who completed 80 hours of training and 100 hours of services at local political offices. At their graduation gala in August, they all appreciated having the opportunity to learn public services and leadership with TVC’s Internship Program.

In addition to our internship program, TVC also sponsored at the APAPA TVC Toastmaster Club Youth Leadership Program with 15 young students graduated. They all learned to overcome their fear of public speaking and improved their communication skills.

In summary, APAPA TVC which started 5 years ago is a proactive chapter engaging in public affairs and leadership empowerment. We are an impactful organization in our area, with close relationships with all levels of governmental legislators. TVC chapter leaders are role models leading by example. We are committed to serving our community members, especially in developing leadership with our younger generations. TVC also formed a partnership with many organizations in the area for collaboration and mutual support.

TVC looks forward to continuing our chapter as a role model in the community, providing services and contributions!
