More Love

by Jean Williams
Hear my cry, O God, attend unto my prayer. I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I." - Psalm 61: 1-2 (KJV)
Do you ever wonder what the good Lord thinks about today's turmoil, hatred and unrest? It is difficult to remain positive. The Bible tells us of similar times when people lost their way and strayed. We must remember that He is always with us and makes the final judgment.

We are bound to have lapses on our road to health and wellness, but it is critical that we learn how to handle small failures positively so we can minimize their long term destructive effects. One setback is one is NOT the end of the world, nor is it the end of your journey toward a better you.

Sing the hymn #828 "More Love to Thee, O Christ"! Music helps. The first stanza declares,

More love to Thee, O Christ, more love to Thee!
Hear thou the prayer I make on bended knee.
This is my earnest please: more love, O Christ to Thee;
More love to Thee, more love to Thee!

I find helpful this advice: "Begin each day with optimism and end each day with forgiveness. Happiness in life begins and ends within your heart."
Loving God, In response to your many blessings—the gift of each day and your gracious forgiveness—may I learn to love you more and serve you more joyfully and faithfully each day. Bless our lives and be with us in these challenging and difficult times. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
