HIGHLIGHTING ALL OF SAN FRANCISCO

The City has been working hard to promote our amazing neighborhoods to make sure benefits exceed inconveniences, including the security measures put in place by the Secret Service.

OEWD partnered with local merchant groups to create “Perfect San Francisco Days," a set of self-guided tours designed to help residents and visitors explore the city and discover our local businesses and attractions. We'll be promoting these guides and diverse neighborhoods throughout APEC and beyond.

San Francisco has closely collaborated with the U.S. Department of State to include local business information in promotional APEC materials that are being shared with delegates, attendees, and visitors. An APEC media newsletter series and other videos produced by SFGovTV for APEC put a spotlight on our small businesses, landmarks, and cultural districts, highlighting San Francisco's deep ties to APEC member economies, including Chinatown, Japantown, and SOMA Pilipinas. The APEC 2023 conference website features over 100 nightlife, arts, and cultural events taking place throughout San Francisco for people to experience and enjoy.

TRAVEL UPDATES

San Francisco is open for business throughout APEC! However, employees and patrons may need to build in extra time to get around, especially near secure areas.

Please visit Muni and Bay Area Ferry webpages for updated route information including in the areas of downtown and along the waterfront. BART and Caltrain schedules will be the same. 

HOW TO FIND APEC-RELATED INFORMATION

SF.gov

SF.gov, San Francisco’s centralized website for all City services, serves as a landing page directing residents and guests to information on City services continuity during APEC, including public transit temporary reroutes, adjustments to hours of public-facing services at City buildings, and information for small businesses. Visit sf.gov/APEC for more information.   

3-1-1

Residents and guests can call 3-1-1, or use the SF311 app and online services for updates on key APEC-related activities, including traffic disruptions and transit reroutes. 3-1-1 offers customer service support with translation services in over 200 languages.

AlertSF

San Francisco’s emergency notification system, AlertSF, provides emergency updates to subscribers via email, text message, or phone call. Get notified about significant APEC-related impacts such as transit disruptions and emergency alerts by texting APEC2023 to 888-777.
