What You Need to Know for APEX

APEX 2023

June 15-17

J.W. Marriott Hill Country Resort & Spa | San Antonio

It's almost here!

Our singular annual event kicks off in just two days and we are looking forward to welcoming about 350 of you to our San Antonio conference. We've got great CE sessions, events, meals and golf lined up for you, plus the host JW Marriott Resort has host of amenities to enjoy.

It's Going to be HOT!

It's always pretty warm in Texas at this time of the year, but Mother Nature decided to amp up the heat for our conference this year. Forecasts call for daily highs in the range of 102 to 105 degrees Thursday through Sunday, with overnight lows in the upper 70s. It's expected to be partly cloudy to sunny each day, so bring plenty of sun screen, a good hat and UV-blocking clothing if you have it. Keep in mind that both our Thursday evening reception and Saturday evening reception and banquet are on outside event lawns, so dress comfortably.

If you spend much time outdoors during the hot part of the day, you'll need to be VERY CAREFUL about hydrating and protecting yourself from the intense sun. Those of you going to the water park need to be especially careful -- UV rays reflect off the water and burn you twice as fast. Watch those kids closely!

Events Are Conveniently Located

The JW Marriott is a HUGE place, but almost all of our events are luckily located in one area on the second level. Most sessions Thursday through Saturday are in either the Grand Oaks or Cibolo ballrooms on level 2 at the bottom of the first set of escalators. The Saturday PAC reception and Saturday Board Meet & Greet are located in the close-by Sunday House on the main level and the Thursday Opening Reception is on Event Lawn 1 outside the main level. And the Saturday reception/banquet is on Event Lawn 3 just outside the hotel registration desk area.

Check out our Event Map, which has all event locations conveniently marked.

Parking & Ground Transportation

Self-parking at the JW Marriott is free but is outside. Garage parking is $20 daily. Valet parking is $42 daily. Electric car charging requires purchasing valet parking at $42 daily.

The hotel does not provide shuttle service to the airport. Taxi fare from the airport to the hotel is $45 – $50 (including tip), depending on the time of day. Standard Uber fare is $23; Lyft is $25. If you plan on visiting area attractions –– such as the downtown Riverwalk area (21 miles), Fiesta Texas (19 miles) or SeaWorld (23 miles) –– a rental car is strongly advised.
