APG Safety Month

At Oldcastle APG, we prioritize safety so every member of the APG Family can return home in the same condition as which they arrived to work. As part of APG Safety Month, we are addressing incident preparedness and active shooter response to equip our teams with insights on how to best approach potential in emergency situations.

Active Shooter Response

Active shooter events often occur quickly, without warning, and unfortunately are becoming more common. Earlier this week, the APG Atlanta office held an active shooter seminar with local law enforcement to educate attendees on how to help themselves and potentially others survive high-risk emergencies.

While we hope we will never need to use this information, we believe it’s important to inform and prepare ourselves for such events.

In the above video, Cindy Coppola, Director of Security, CRH Americas, reviews how to IDENTIFY a threat, potentially PREVENT a situation, and adopt a mindset that knows how to REACT.

Please join us in putting safety first by watching this video and downloading the toolkit so you and your teams can best prepare for potential unwelcome situations.

Incident Preparedness and Procedure

Incidents can range from minor first aid needs, serious injuries and suspicious activity to vehicle accidents and, in worst-case scenarios, fatalities. These can happen at any time or place, so it's crucial to know how to address the situation, react intentionally and follow procedure properly.

In the event of an incident, please refer to our guidelines for incident response and contact your local EH&S manager or supervisor as soon as possible. If you don’t know who your local or regional EH&S manager is or how to contact them, reach out to your supervisor for that information.
