News for the coming days
From Death Comes New Life

Typically when we think of death, we think of finality, grief or the end. But Christ reminds us on this beautiful Easter day that from death comes new life…a life full of light and hope and beauty…a life in Christ. Through the waters of our baptism, the death to our old sinful self is drowned…our ashes blown away…and a new creation emerges, alive in Christ.

Come and join us in worship and on Sunday for a special Easter breakfast!

Pastor Heather

Breakfast Sunday, April 17 - French Toast, Bacon, Omelets to order, juice, coffee.

Women’s Bible Study: Searching for Springtime (January 24 - May 2)
Monday Evenings 7:00 pm on Zoom
Winter comes to each of us at some time. When God seems silent, is he? The story of Esther reveals this truth: though God may be quiet, he is quietly at work. Esther gives us this confidence: God is in the details. The details of protection. Deliverance. Hope. The winter of the soul won’t last forever. God, in his kind providence, hears all the prayers of all the souls who feel stuck in a long winter season.

Reimagining the Way You Relate to God (Tuesdays March 22 – May 17)
Why are American Christians, who have more access to biblical teaching than any other people in history, failing to experience the freedom of the Christian life? Why are pastors, those closest to the work and ministry, burning out at an alarming rate? Why do many church members, who give large amounts of their time and wealth to Christ and his kingdom, secretly question the legitimacy of their efforts? And why are spiritual seekers dismissing the validity of the Christian message? Is it possible we’ve misunderstood the call of the Christian life? Come join us as together we seek a life lived in rich communion with God cultivates faith, hope, and love in a way that transforms both us and the broken world we inhabit.

The Most Glorious Psalms Ever: (April 20 – May 18)
“The Most Glorious Psalms Ever” Psalms 100, 23, 19, 98, and 103 have a lot of theological brawn to them. Some of the topics covered are: developing a concrete plan for thanking the Lord for the little things in your life, learning about God’s progressive revelation from creation to Jesus Christ, and answering the question “Does God still heal today?”

Executive Council Update

Executive Council will met on April 12. Agenda items included financial report and Ministry Action Team reports. Contact Amy McLin with questions.

We are so thankful to the congregation for the support you provide the church and the response to our “22 in 2022” initiative. Over the prior four years, APLC averaged being $5,000 in the red at the end of March, while in 2022, we are about $30,000 in the black. This has enabled us to fully operate our ministries as planned and absorb a $25,000 air conditioning replacement. Thank you for your continued generosity.

Business Quarterly Update
The next Business Quarterly Update will be held April 24 at 10:30 am in the Outdoor Chapel. This is between worship services on our annual outdoor worship and picnic day.

Agenda will include a look at the first quarter financial results including (hopefully) positive results from the $22 in 2022 campaign.

It's never too late to jump in. Today's a great day to commit to your increased giving in 2022.
