Thank you for attending the APOMA General Meeting at Photonics West 2019!

WITH CLOSE TO 60 MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE, THE MEETING MARKED THE TRANSITION IN OUR APOMA PRESIDENTS.
The APOMA General Meeting at Photonics West 2019 took place on February 6th in San Francisco, CA - thank you to those members able to join us! The meeting featured APOMA updates by outgoing President Kirk Warden, and presentations on Information Security, Teaming Agreements and Subcontracting for members that are government contractors provided by W. Barron Avery from BakerHostetler. Please see the web links below to view the presentations.

The meeting also marked an important transition in APOMA officers as our new APOMA President Mike Mandina officially took the reins at the close of the General Meeting. Pictured above are all of the newly inducted APOMA officers (from left): Lee Steneken (ESCO Optics) - President Elect, Mike Mandina (Optimax Systems) - Incoming President, Kirk Warden (LaCroix Precision Optics) - Outgoing President, and incoming Corporate Board Member and outgoing Past President Justin Mahanna (Universal Photonics).

APOMA's Student Travel Grants for OPTIFAB 2019 - now accepting applications

APOMA will sponsor TRAVEL GRANTS and OUTSTANDING STUDENT POSTER awards at SPIE OPTIFAB 2019, to be held October 14-17, 2019 in Rochester, NY.

The travel grants are intended to encourage student participation at OPTIFAB 2019 while providing first hand exposure to technical and manufacturing issues important to the optics industry. The grants may be used to defer costs associated with transportation, registration or housing. Guidelines and eligibility are given HERE. Up to eight $250 travel grants will be awarded to students presenting posters at the OPTIFAB meeting, with a maximum of two awards per institution.

In addition, APOMA will award three prizes for Outstanding Student Posters ($1,000 for first, $750 for second and $500 for third-best poster). The APOMA awards will be made at the conference. Posters will be judged by APOMA industry representatives.

Student applicants must provide the appropriate documentation, including abstract and a signed proof of current student (undergraduate or graduate) status signed by their advisor.
