The Joint Commission
They still haven't come, but they will. Let's be prepared.
This month's TJC tip:
Restraints require an order by the treating MD or APP. The order is time limited and must include the type of restraint being used and justification for using restraints. Restraints may not be written as a standing order or on an as needed (PRN) basis. Restraint order writing and documentation and assessment.

The Coding Corner
All APPs must use the dot phrase ".appnote" for all notes including independent, shared and procedure notes to ensure work relative value units (wRVU) are appropriately allocated.
This is necessary both inpatient and ambulatory notes and applies to in-person, telehealth and on demand visits.
Why this is important: By default, all notes in APEX are physician notes UNTIL ".appnote" phrase is entered. Entering this phrase is the responsibility of the APP, and it is necessary to receive credit for your work.
