2019 California Regional Student Conference Welcoming submissions now until January 25th

The Southern California sun is calling for you to network and share ideas with the APPAM community this coming April! Just two weeks after our student conference in DC , the APPAM California Regional Student Conference will provide a multitude of opportunities for Master's and PhD students to present their research. If you're a student with a completed paper or a work in progress that you feel should be presented at the University of California, Irvine, where our California conference will be hosted this coming spring, then you should submit it by 11:59 PM PST on January 25, 2019. For the submissions process, APPAM is soliciting abstracts for (1) individual papers or projects to be integrated into panels, (2) panels made up of 3-4 papers/projects, and (3) posters. Again, papers/projects and posters do not need to be complete in order to be presented at the conference!  During the conference, participating students will present their research on panels of peers and through a poster sessions spanning an array of policy areas such as Economics, Health Policy, Public Management, Environment, and Politics. A full listing of policy areas and suggested topics within each area can be found on the Regional Student Conference website . Student presenters will acquire valuable research presentation experience, and receive vital feedback from academics, practitioners, and other students. We understand how important these skills and insights are to students, which is why we strive to make this conference as inclusive as possible in terms of content and size.

Who Should Submit... APPAM encourages Masters and PhD level students who are seeking an opportunity to present their research in front of policy researchers, academics, and peers to submit their research.

How to Submit... By January 25, 2019 at 11:59 PM PST, students will need to submit the following to be considered for acceptance into the conference: Abstract (500 word maximum) Summary (fully formed panels only) Contact information for all authors/presenters

Papers/Projects and posters do not need to be complete in order to be presented at the conference. Works in progress can be competitive submissions. Students may submit for both the March 2019 DC Regional Student Conference and the April 2019 California Regional Student Conference. Submissions for both conferences are now open.
