WHO COUNCIL CHOOSES WILL TELL ARCADIA RESIDENTS EVERYTHING

I told you in my prior email that I believed Cao, Cheng and Fu had moved someone into D3 before Eileen resigned in order to pick that person for a replacement. It seems I was right.

William Wu applied on the last day to be appointed by council to represent D3.

According to his application, he has lived in Arcadia for only 3 months which means Wu moved into D3 around February of this year, right about the time Eileen would have been negotiating her plea deal with the Department of Justice.

I believe Wu will be selected by the 3 men on Arcadia City Council and there is nothing anyone can say to prevent this from happening. It was pointless for the others to apply. The 3 men had already met, conferred and decided on William Wu before Eileen resigned.

My only hope is that this email blast makes the 3 men nervous enough that they have been found out that they change their plans in order to repair their reputations.

WHO IS WILLIAM WU?

I have met Wu on several occasions. He is a good friend of Paul Cheng's and friendly with David Fu and Michael Cao.

I believe he lives outside of the City of Arcadia (having moved to Arcadia District 3 just 3 months ago in order to be appointed to City Council).

He is a police chief of the Compton Unified School District. And an attorney.

He has been accused of corrupt practices as a police chief.

WHY WU?

With 10 other qualified applicants, many of whom have a long history of living in District 3 and Arcadia, why would the 3 men on council be looking to appoint William Wu?

• He is a good friend of Paul Cheng’s
  
• He will go along with what the 3 men want
  
• He's a police chief and will support more raises for the police union
  
• In his application, Wu emphasizes contract negotiations with the unions
  

City Manager Dominic Lazzaretto has informed Council Member Kwan that the police and fire unions want to start discussing raises this month even though the current contract does not expire until next year.

This timing seems to be convenient for a new council member and the unions.

Just remember, the council is voting to spend your money.

MOST WITH LONG HISTORY IN ARCADIA

Take a look at all 11 applications. Who would you pick?

The guy who just moved in 3 months ago? Or one of the applicants who has lived here 10+ years and has no connection to anyone on council?

We don't need more controversy. We don’t need “the well of our town to be poisoned by outsiders” (Paul’s words from an LA Times article). We don't need a crony of Paul, Michael and David.

We need someone who knows Arcadia, is independent and trustworthy. We need someone who has the bests interests of Arcadia at heart.

We need to regain the trust of the community and the nation. We can do better.

Enough is enough!
