Abandoned Pet Rescue January 2025 Newsletter

Thank you!

From the pets and people of Abandoned Pet Rescue

Thanks to your support, we reached our fundraising goal for the holiday season! To everyone who donated, volunteered, adopted and supported Abandoned Pet Rescue this year, we are grateful for you!

There were so many individuals and organizations that made this holiday season special for the cats and dogs at Abandoned Pet Rescue. Here are just some of our wonderful supporters...

APR's Holiday Bone Drive

Our annual Holiday Bone Drive was a big success this year! Thank you to everyone who donated bones and supplies for the dogs.

Lucas Hudson and Eagle Scout Troop 406

Lucas Hudson chose to renovate the office and lobby of Abandoned Pet Rescue for his Eagle Project because helping animals has always been his lifelong passion.

Lucas is a member of Eagle Scout Troop 406, chartered by Lighthouse Fellowship Church in Tamarac. He designed, fundraised, and executed this momentous project throughout 2024.

With the help of his fellow Scouts and volunteers, APR's beautiful new office was built, and the lobby and hallways were painted last month. Lucas said he chose to support APR after learning it relies on volunteers and directs the majority of its funds to help abandoned animals.

This project is a win-win for the shelter and for scouting! Thank you, Lucas, and all the members of Eagle Scout Troop 406.

December Pawtners

Squirt - 5 years old

3 years 7 months (1319 days) Waiting for a home.

Meet Squirt! This sweet 4-year-old kitty, named after a soda, is soft, sugary, and addictive, with just the right amount of “cat-ffeine” to keep you smiling all day long. Squirt has been waiting for a forever home for over 3 years, and he’s more than ready to find his match!

This adorable dude is part koala, part lap cat, he loves to jump on your back and be cradled like a baby. Squirt is a social butterfly, making friends with everyone including dogs! His ultimate weakness? Temptations cat treats (he’ll do anything for them).

If you're looking for the perfect balance of sugary sweetness and a refreshing burst of playfulness, Squirt might just be the purrfect match for you.
