Whose Question
Might Be Your Gift?
by Reverend Tom Capo
Sometimes wisdom only comes when we open ourselves to the needs and concerns of other people. Sometimes placing their questions and struggles at the center of our focus, is the answer to our questions about what makes life worth living. American Poet Priscilla Denise Levertov asks us all: "Whose question might be your gift?"

The Worship Service will be streamed live on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. on our  YouTube channel  and a recording of the service will available to view thereafter. You can also visit our webpage, uumiami.org for the link to our YouTube channel.

During Spring Break, families can work on the second 7 handouts from our Mindfulness classes

Message from Barby

This time of uncertainty and changes to our daily habits and routines can trigger fear and anxiety within us and therefore is the perfect time to practice the mindfulness techniques you’ve learned. Remember to also try to focus on the present moment and ask yourself if right now in this moment you are well or is there something to fear. Keep focusing on one moment at a time and see how that feels.

Liberation in the Myth of Easter
by Reverend Tom Capo

American Theravada Buddhist Jack Kornfield wrote: “Along with the joy of freedom is a fear of the unknown. Freedom can be both exhilarating and unnerving. The conflict runs deep… Sometimes, we limit our own freedom because we think it will overwhelm us.” What can the Easter story offer to Unitarian Universalists in the 21st century? What might it have to do with the joy freedom and the fear of the unknown?

50th Anniversary of the First Earth Day Climate Action
by Reverend Tom Capo
“Despite that amazing success and decades of environmental progress, we find ourselves facing an even more dire, almost existential, set of global environmental challenges, from loss of biodiversity to climate change to plastic pollution, that call for action at all levels of government,” said Denis Hayes, the organizer of the first Earth Day in 1970 and Earth Day Network’s Board Chair Emeritus. Liberation is not just about liberation for people, it is about liberation for all creation. How can we support earth’s liberation?
