From the Pastor
As we move into April, we do so in the light of Easter morning—a reminder that resurrection is not just something we celebrate one Sunday a year, but something we are invited to live into every single day. I hope you found meaningful ways to draw closer to God during Lent—through prayer, reflection, fasting, or simply being more aware of God’s presence in your daily life.
Molly and I really enjoyed walking through this past season with you. Our prayer is that the sermons we’ve shared have been more than words—that they have been inspiring, but also convicting and compelling in the ways that move us toward deeper faith and faithful action. Lent calls us not just to reflection, but to transformation—and Easter reminds us that transformation is truly possible.
That’s why I’m especially excited for what comes next.
On Sunday, April 12th, we will gather for Be the Church Sunday—a day when we live out our faith in tangible ways. After a shortened time of worship, we will be sent out to serve both here on our FCC campus and throughout the community. Opportunities will include assembling Take Along Packs, putting together CCC Camp Care Kits, cleaning up our church grounds, sprucing up the OES playground, and participating in a deep clean at the Suds of Love laundromat.
This day is more than an event—it’s a reflection of who we are called to be. The Church is not just a place we gather; it is a people who go. It is love made visible. It is faith put into action.
As we look ahead to the remaining months of 2026, I am excited to see how God will continue to work through all of us—through our gifts, our compassion, and our willingness to serve. There is meaningful work to be done, and I am grateful we get to do it with you!
I leave you with these words from Henri Nouwen:
“The Church is the place where we are reminded again and again that God’s love is stronger than our fear, and that we are sent into the world to make that love visible.”
As always, I look forward to seeing you, especially in worship.
