PASTOR DOUG CELEBRATES COMMUNION WITH KAREN REFUGEES.

A group of faithful Karen Adventists have been meeting in Southeast Portland and recently asked Pastor Doug to help celebrate a communion service.

Recently Pastor Doug and Scott Hill traveled to Southeast Portland, as the result of an invitation, to celebrate communion with local Karen refugees. It was a wonderful time and all were blessed as the love and sacrifice of Jesus were remembered.

THE FIJI MISSION GROUP IS COMING TO OHANA APRIL 15TH TO SHARE THEIR STORY!

On April 15th the Fiji Mission Participants from Portland Adventist Academy will visit OHANA and share their experiences of traveling to Rabi Fiji. They helped out in the optical clinic, medical clinic, built a new cement walkway and much more. Don't miss this special Sabbath at the church.

OPERATION BACKPACK IS READY TO LAUNCH! WILL TEAM UP WITH "BOOTS FOR JESUS" IN COSTA RICA!

For many many years OHANA has partnered with Operation Christmas Child to provide thousands of shoeboxes filled with supplies to needy children around the world. After much thought and prayer we are headed to a new phase of outreach. Recently it was decided to launch Operation Backpack. Our first project will be to team up with "Boots for Jesus" a Costa Rican 501c3 to pack 1,500 backpacks for needy kids in the Costa Rican rain forest. Your thoughts and support are appreciated!

OAKWOOD ADVENTIST ACADEMY LAWSUIT RESOLVED!

God is good!

On September 27, 2022, the Oakwood Adventist Academy’s case against the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) was resolved, with a promise by AHSAA that moving forward, it would reschedule all games that conflict with the Sabbath. OAA brought the suit against AHSAA this past spring after the team was unable to play in the state tournament for basketball February 2022 because accommodation for Sabbath was denied. For a full report  CLICK HERE
