User Tip of the Month

Named Groups

Location: Tools > Named Groups

Named Groups is a powerful feature in RxCompass that allows users to create custom groups of Patients, Drugs, Prescribers, and Plans. These groups can then be applied to various Transactional Reports, enabling precise data evaluation based on user-defined criteria. Users can create Include or Exclude Named Groups based on need and can modify them at any time. Once created, Named Groups are instantly available for use in Transactional Reports.

Recommended Use

  • Determine the type of Named Group needed, then access the tool and follow the steps:
  • Step 1: Select the type of group for your list
  • Step 2: Upload a file from your computer to create a list (optional)
  • Step 3: Choose whether this group will be one to include or exclude in your reporting
  • Step 4: Give this group a name
  • With the new Named Group created, navigate to the Modify tab at the top of the screen to add/remove/revise/delete your Named Group as desired

Typical Use

  • Many users will create an exclude Patient Named Group that includes their med sync, auto-refill, and/or LTC patients
  • These patients are sometimes excluded from refill adherence outreach, which is easily accomplished in RxCompass with this tool
  • This Patient Named Group can then be applied to Refills on Time (Advanced), for example, so only patients NOT part of these groups can be targeted for past due refill fulfillment
