Open enrollment for American Pharmacies’ Group Health Insurance Plan is coming soon. The deadline for your pharmacy to elect to participate in 2025 coverage is Oct. 21, 2024. Seven PPO health plan options (including HSA-eligible plans) and one HSA-eligible HMO available in Texas only will be offered.

Additionally, we have thrilling news for 2025! We’ve teamed up with UHC to add an exciting enhancement to our medical plans. Beginning January 1, 2025, all employees and their spouses who enroll in a medical plan will be eligible to earn up to $1,000 each by participating in our exciting wellness rewards program and meeting wellness goals. It’s a fantastic opportunity to boost your health and your wallet!

Simplified Enrollment with GoCo


We have partnered with GoCo, an online employee management system, to provide an easy-to-use portal to ease the burdens of enrollment and daily plan administration. You can read about our partnership with GoCo by clicking here.


Eligibility


The health plan is open to all active members of American Pharmacies. Your pharmacy must:

  • Offer benefits to all full-time (30+ hours/week) employees;
  • Contribute at least $450 monthly toward each enrolled employee’s medical coverage (please verify that your employer contribution meets the Affordable Care Act’s affordability requirements for applicable large employers for 2025); and
  • Enroll at least 75% of your full-time employees who do not have coverage elsewhere (e.g., Medicare, spouse, parent).

These requirements are in place to protect you and all other participants from adverse selection.

If you are interested in participating in the Group Benefit Program for 2025, please email Rida Ashraf, APRx Benefits Director and Paralegal, at rashraf@aprx.org. You must email Rida by October 21 to indicate your commitment to join the plan. If you are not currently participating in the benefit program, you must include the following information in your email to be able to participate.

  • Pharmacy legal name 
  • Pharmacy EIN
  • Pharmacy address 
  • Pharmacy phone number
  • Name/email/phone of main contact person or HR administrator 
  • Your pharmacy’s payday schedule
  • Employer contribution amount (must contribute at least $450/month for each employee enrolled in the medical plan)

Pharmacies currently participating in the Group Benefit Program must email Rida by October 21 with their commitment and contribution amounts for 2025 or risk losing coverage next year.
