We are approaching the final weeks of the school year and our students and staff are working hard to finish the year on a high note. As the Class of 2022 inches closer to graduation and the next chapter of their lives, we wanted to celebrate their hard work and highlight their accomplishments. In addition, as we prepare to kick off Teacher Appreciation Week, we would love to encourage our community to celebrate APS’ incredible teachers who make a difference in our students’ lives every day. We are so proud to have APS teachers as part of #theAteam.
Teacher Appreciation Week starts Monday
We’re grateful for more than 2,000 Aurora Public Schools teachers who dedicate themselves to educating and empowering students to learn, grow and lead. In classrooms across our district, teachers are inspiring curiosity and fostering a lifelong love of learning for our students.
APS joins districts around the country in saying Thank You to teachers as part of National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 2-6).
We will be sharing a special announcement and surprise to celebrate our teachers next week. Follow along on our Facebook page all next week to see how we’re celebrating our teachers. Once again, we encourage you to recognize teachers by writing a message using the hashtags #theAteam #ThankATeacherCO.

APS Salutes Our Academic Top Ten from Each High School
Earlier this month, we gathered for our annual “Bright Lights” ceremony to honor the students named among the Top Ten academic performers at their respective high schools. It was an opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication these students put into learning and growing. Altogether, these students earned more than 7.5 million dollars in college scholarships. Congratulations to each of them!

Six APS Students Named 2022 Daniels Scholars
The Daniels Fund provides full financial support for students earning a college degree in. The prestigious and highly competitive scholarship covers all required tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies and other college expenses. This recognition highlights each student’s outstanding leadership skills, exceptional character and service to the community.

“I am driven by a strong desire to become more knowledgeable and pursue education in all aspects of my life. I believe education is power, so I always look for opportunities to expand my knowledge and also get involved in my school and community. Specifically, student council, national honor society and interact club. “I’ve wanted to apply for the Daniels Fund Scholarship since I was in middle school. My older brother became a Daniels Scholar when I was in 7th grade and that was when I started thinking about my future a lot more. When I got to high school, I began getting involved in community service and volunteering in the community. It has been really great to give back in that way. I will be forever grateful to my counselors, teachers and friends here at Rangeview for pushing me to work hard and inspiring me to do my very best.” - Vivian Tran, Rangeview High School

A inicios de este mes, nos reunimos para realizar nuestra ceremonia “Bright Lights” para homenajear a los estudiantes que alcanzaron un lugar en el cuadro de honor académico de sus respectivas escuelas preparatorias. Fue una oportunidad para darles reconocimiento por el arduo trabajo y dedicación que estos estudiantes han puesto para su aprendizaje y crecimiento. Entre todos, estos estudiantes obtuvieron más de $7.5 millones en becas universitarias. ¡Nuestras felicitaciones para cada uno de ellos!
