What's New

This Weekend: Join Us at the APS 5K and Character Fun Run

The big day is almost here! Will you be joining us at the 2024 APS 5K and Character Fun Run this Saturday, September 7? We've been challenging all schools, alumni, and departments to show us their APS pride by assembling a team. There is still time to sign up, so click HERE to register. Let's see which school or department will have the most racers signed up and ready to go!

Student Entrepreneur Expo

Join us in supporting our student business owners, who will showcase their goods and services at the Student Entrepreneur Expo on Thursday, September 12, at the Center for Learning and Leadership from 4-6:30 p.m. as we celebrate Minority Business Opportunity Week. For more information, please contact Brent Bailey at bbaily@atlanta.k12.ga.us.

Attendance Awareness Month

September is Attendance Awareness Month, underscoring that regular school attendance is directly linked to academic success. Make every day count because missing 2 days of school each month means a child misses 10% of the school year. With that in mind, please help us congratulate the winners of the Attendance Awareness Month Poster Contest!

Important Reminders

We Want You to Be A Part of the Plan

We invite you to join Superintendent Dr. Bryan Johnson at Virginia Highland Elementary School on September 16 at 6 p.m. for the first Community Listening Session, where you will have the opportunity to share your voice and ideas. Spanish interpretation will be available. Click HERE to register. Together, let's create a stronger foundation for our schools and community!
