Goodr, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, and College Football Playoff Foundation officially opened a new Goodr Grocery Store at the Atlanta Public Schools Student and Family Support Hub.


Coretta Scott King Young Women's Leadership Academy recently honored Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day with a celebration that blended immersive technology, student-led activism, and a tribute to the courage of Ruby Bridges.


Jer'Riyah Willingham, a Pre-K student at Paul Laurence Dunbar Elementary School won the We Care Child Care Sweepstakes, which will help her invest in a Path2College 529 Savings Account.

 

Calendra Williams, a first-grade teacher at Micheal R. Hollis Innovation Academy, has been selected as a 2025 Don Cargill STEM Scholar.


The APS Community Equity Advisory Committee met for their first convening of the 2024-2025 school year.

APS Wishes You a Happy Holiday Season

APS Student and Family Holiday Resources


If you or a family you know are in need of assistance this holiday season, you are not alone. We have a number of resources available, including APS Cares, Food Finder, SafePlace, and Say Something. Also, check out the United Way's list of events and gift giveaways for children of all ages.

Dr. Johnson Wants to Hear from Students

 

Superintendent Dr. Bryan Johnson is opening his virtual office hours to APS middle and high school students to start the second semester. The high school session will take place Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m., and the middle school session will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 5-6 p.m. Students remember— your voice matters! Atlanta Community Food Bank


In addition to our aforementioned list of resources, the Atlanta Community Food Bank also offers several resources to assist families with finding nearby food pantries or applying for SNAP or Medicaid. There are also opportunities to donate and volunteer with the Atlanta Community Food Bank to help with their mission to end hunger in Atlanta.

General Administrative Transfer Window


The General Administrative Transfer (GAT) Application Window for school year 2025-2026 is officially open through tomorrow, December 20, 2024. Parents and caregivers can apply for their child(ren) to attend an APS school other than their zoned school, provided the selected school has available capacity.
