APS students are enjoying fresher, healthier meals since APS brought its Nutrition Services in-house for the 2024-2025 school year.


Democracy Fest 2024 visited APS high schools to motivate students to register to vote.


APS also hosted the first Student Entrepreneur Expo at CLL, where student vendors showcased their goods and services.


At the Community Listening Sessions, APS families and stakeholders shared their ideas for the district and heard directly from Superintendent Dr. Bryan Johnson.

Hispanic College and Career Event


The APS Hispanic College and Career Event at Agape Youth and Family Center is this Saturday, September 28, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. This event will provide valuable resources and information to students and families about college admissions, scholarships, and career opportunities specifically tailored to support our Hispanic community.

Atlanta PRIDE Parade


Mark your calendars for the Atlanta PRIDE Parade on Sunday, October 13. Join us at 9 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta to pick up your swag bag, and then head to Piedmont Park to celebrate diversity and support LGBTQIA+ students and staff. As an inclusive district, we are committed to creating a welcoming environment for all. Be sure you save the date and complete the Participant Consent Form.

APS Flag Football Media Day


Meet the stars of APS Flag Football this Saturday, September 28, at Booker T. Washington High School at 11 a.m. Help us jumpstart the season and get to know the teams competing this season!

APS Marching Band Showcase


All 10 APS high school bands will demonstrate their school pride and perform their halftime shows in front of a panel of judges at the annual Marching Band Showcase at Lakewood Stadium. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, and the Clark Atlanta University Mighty Marching Panthers will also perform. Get your tickets on GoFan and come support our students!

M.E.N.s Initiative - Wholistic1 Stress Control Institute

Atlanta Community Food Bank: Get the Help You Need


Atlanta Public Schools is committed to connecting students and families with the resources they need. Visit the Atlanta Community Food Bank website and use their interactive map or "Text for Help" service to find a food pantry near you. You can also schedule an appointment at one of their Community Food Centers or get assistance with applying for food assistance programs.

Safe Routes to School Design Contest


The Atlanta Department of Transportation is inviting APS student artists and graphic designers to submit artwork for the department's Safe Route to School Logo Design Contest. Students are encouraged to join the contest and enter their submissions before the deadline of Friday, October 4. For more details and submission instructions, click HERE.

Clear Bag Policy Update for Sporting Events

 

To provide a safer environment for the public and significantly expedite fan entry into Atlanta Public Schools athletic venues, the APS Office of Safety and Security has updated the Clear Bag Policy. We are now permitting clear backpacks, fanny packs, purses, cross-body bags, drawstring bags, 1-gallon freezer bags, and approved wristlets and wallets. We urge you to view the new policy in full by clicking HERE, as well as the non-approved bags list, and contact the Department of Athletics at apsathletics@atlanta.k12.ga.us or call 404.802.5575 with questions.
