NYC Annual Steward Reception Highlights Student Research Award Winners and Harold Holzer at the Hearst Tower in NYC

Incredible views from the 44th floor of The Hearst Tower in New York City was the perfect setting to celebrate Lincoln Scholar, Harold Holzer and his critically acclaimed new book, Brought Forth from this Continent: Lincoln and Immigration, and the 2024 High School and Middle School division winners of the 34th annual Student Research Awards.

The presence of stewards, scholars, collaborators, and young historians underscored the importance of preserving and sharing New York’s rich history.

Call for Proposals

Proposals Due: December 15, 2024

The New York History Conference is accepting proposals that deal with the history, culture, economy, politics, geography, anthropology, or archaeology of New York State. Proposals that use New York’s history as a lens to understand a regional, national, or international issue are also welcome. Special consideration will be given to topics that directly relate to the theme of the 2025 conference.

DAR Visits the Archives

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution President General Pamela Edwards Rousse Wright attended the New York State Society's 128th Conference held on September 27 to 29, 2024. Guests of the conference hosted by State Vice Regent Lisa O'Brien stopped by for a tour at the State Archives.
