Hello Rick,
Here are the results of the Carlisle Barracks Golf Club event held this Sunday, May 7th. We had a total of 63 players tee it up vying for an overall prize pool of $3060.
Results: (All results can be found here - click on "Overall Leaderboard")
Division 1:
It was a seesaw battle down to the last hole between Noah Bowers (77) and Mike Kelly (78) with Noah emerging victorious with the win and the $125 1st place victory.
Division 2:
Jordon Burke carded a 78 with only one double and a steller eagle on 17 hitting a 3 wood on his second shot just short of the pin. Jordon won 1st place and $205. 2nd place went to Nath Thomas carding an 81, winning $70, but not without some excitement. Nate's drive on number 18 went right, over the orange construction fence. Initially an erroneous ruling called the ball OB. In fact, it was not OB, but ground under repair. Nate as able to complete the hole with the proper ruling and carded a par to finish with an 81.
Division 3:
Steve Winnick carded the low round of the day posting his best score on tour with a phenomenal 4 over par 76. His triple on hole 9 was erased with his 3 birdies for the round. With the win, Steve took home $270 in Visa gift cards. Just a note of interest - Steve, if you had only paid into the Senior Net game you could have walked away with another $240. Oh well, next time. Steve's validated APT index of 9.4 may very well drop after this round. Two players, Curtis Bickel and Josh Deardorf tied for 2nd place with each of them taking home $90. Since Curtis was playing as a guest, the $90 will go toward his APT Membership.
Divsion 4:
Jeremy Simpson took home the D4 title shooting a career low round of 83 and $235 to go with it. Jeremy is well on his way to moving up, and will be playing in Division 3 some day soon. New comer to the tour, Joe Friday, continued to play well shooting an 85 and coming in 2nd place. Joe received $120. 3rd place went to Brandon Buchanan with a score of 87. There was a tie for 4th place between Jordon Miller and Josh Patrushev, both carding 89's. They split the money with each earning $25.
Division 5:
Division 5 saw another tight battle between John Stagg and Ted Harris. Both players made the turn even with each other shooting 45's on the front. Both players traded places on the back, but it was John's par on 16 that was the difference maker, finishing 1 shot better than Ted. John's 91 won him $185. Ted's 92 won him $65.
Senior Net:
16 out of 25 players opted into the Senior Net competition. With $400 in the pot, the field payed out 3 places. There was a tight race for 1st place between Greg Bentzel and returning veteran John Friedman. Greg held on to the win shooting a net even par of 72 and besting John by one stroke. Greg took home $240 and John earned $100. Brian Suchy took 3rd place ($60) with a net 75, beating 3 other players close behind by one stroke.
Skins: Most were payed out at the event, some were paid via Venmo. If you did not receive your winnings, contact me at CaptainRick@APTGolf.org and let me know how you want to be paid. Otherwise, your money will be held in an envelope and can be picked up at your next event.
