ANNOUNCEMENTS
Professional Development Committee

I am pleased to announce that Steven Lesh, PT, PhD has been appointed to fill the unexpired portion of Dr. Tamara Gravano's term as the Academy's Director of Professional Development through June 2024. Dr. Lesh is Director of Curriculum and Association Clinical Professor at Bowling Green University. He was appointed to the new Professional Development Committee this past year and will now assume the role of Director and Chair of the Committee.

The Academy thanks Dr. Gravano not only for her leadership since her election as Director of Professional Development in 2019, but also for her willingness to continue as a member of the Professional Development Committee through June 2024. With Dr. Gravano's relocation to University of Southern Florida in 2020 and recent increases in professional responsibilities, she believes the shift in role will better serve the professional development goals of the Academy.

The new DEI Liaison will work with Board members (or a task force) to craft a position description for Board approval that will further define the scope of liaison responsibilities.

Candidates must submit a statement of interest for this position with a current curriculum vita via the Academy’s Volunteer Portal (click link below). The statement of interest should address previous experience with DEI initiatives and how the applicant might serve the Academy of Education specifically in this role.
