PTA Education SIG Call for Webinar Presentation Proposals

Over the last year, the PTAE SIG webinar series provided an opportunity for PTA educators across the country to share their knowledge and expertise during a time when connection was more important than ever.

The webinar series was a huge success and is continuing to grow and evolve. This coming year, we are now putting out a call for webinar presentations that will continue to allow for ongoing connection, sharing, and professional growth. Presenting at a PTAE SIG Webinar is a great way to present in a safe, non-intimidating form and can be an excellent stepping stone along a journey towards a submission or presentation at larger conferences.

The webinar committee is now seeking submissions for the 2021-2022 academic year. Presentations should cover topics applicable to PTA Education but can have an education or clinical focus. All presentations should be able to be presented in one hour in a Zoom format.

If you are interested in submitting a proposal to present at the webinar series, please complete the presentation proposal form found here:

More information and all submission requirements are included on the proposal form. Once you have submitted your proposal, the committee will review your submission and contact you for follow-up.

We are currently looking for presentations for:
  • December 2021
  • Spring webinars (January-April 2021)

The proposal submission deadline for December 2021 and Spring 2022 webinars is September 1, 2021.

CALL FOR EDITORIAL BOARD MEMBERS - Journal of Physical Therapy Education

The editors of the Journal of Physical Therapy Education are now welcoming applications for new members of the Editorial Board of the Journal. The primary role of members of the Editorial Board is to advise and support the editors. In this role Editorial Board Members advise and contribute to the direction of the journal through identification of topics, potential contributors, and themes included in publications. EBMs play a pivotal role in the peer-review process in collaboration with reviewers and the Editors. Finally, through their own recognized expertise, EBMs endorse the Journal to authors, readers and subscribers and encourage colleagues to submit their best work.

CALL FOR REVIEWERS- Journal of Physical Therapy Education

The Journal of Physical Therapy Education (JoPTE) is now welcoming applications for reviewers of the Journal. As a reviewer, you will review manuscripts submitted for publication and provide feedback of your review to a member of the editorial board for the Journal, who will then make recommendation for decision to the editor. Reviewers play a pivotal role in the peer-review process and ensuring rigor and excellence of the scholarly works published in the Journal.

How to Begin Your Journey (Mini-GAMER)
Thursday, October 21, 2021 : 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM EST

Pre-Conference: Education Research: How to Begin Your Journey (Mini-GAMER) The Education Leadership Partnership of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is working collaboratively (APTA, ACAPT, and Education Academy) to put recommendations into action that support the development of the next generation of education researchers. An urgent need is to provide guidance to novice researchers in developing competence in the essential building blocks and tools for successful research. Education research needs to move beyond the show and tell or descriptive phase of one (one program, one classroom, one clinic) to research that is grounded in meaningful questions linked with appropriate research designs and conceptual framing that can inform and advance education research in physical therapy. This one -day, pre-conference workshop will provide opportunities for participants to build on their education research question of interest and engage in a participatory workshop with research mentors that leads to a plan of action for each participant.
