Professionally, I graduated with a B.S. in Kinesiology and Health Promotion from the University of Wyoming and went on to earn a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Utah. Following graduate school, I completed a neurologic physical therapy residency at the University of Utah and earned my Board Certification as a Neurologic Clinical Specialist. My clinical experiences include neurologic acute care and intensive care units, inpatient rehabilitation, including spinal cord injury, brain injury, and stroke teams, outpatient neurologic rehabilitation, rural acute care hospitals with an emphasis on wound care, and skilled nursing facilities. I currently serve as Director of Rehabilitation at Westward Heights Care Center in Lander, WY, where I thoroughly enjoy both the operations/management role as well as treating primarily geriatric residents with a variety of neurologic, orthopedic, integumentary and complex
medical diagnoses. Additionally, I serve as an Adjunct Instructor for the University of Utah’s Hybrid DPT program that began in 2023.
Personally, I grew up as an Air Force kid, having lived in three states before being lucky to land in Wyoming, where I was raised. I enjoy traveling to both faraway places and in my backyard near the Wind River Mountains, and I feel equally at home on the back of a horse as I do flying across oceans. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two dogs, baking, reading, volunteering at community athletic events, and enjoying the natural beauty of Wyoming.
I am seeking an appointment as Treasurer for the Wyoming Physical Therapy Association. As a passionate clinician, educator, and advocate for the physical therapy profession, I desire to become more involved at the state and national levels to continue working towards elevating our profession and the role we play within the healthcare continuum. With my operations and management experience as a Director of Rehab, I understand the importance of financial stewardship at a system level and would carry forward that awareness into the Treasurer role.
My personality is well-organized, communicative, eager to learn, and personable, which would all translate well into working with the rest of the Board, committees, and members of the Wyoming PT Association. Additionally, as an APTA 2025 Leadership Scholar, I intend to bring what I have learned from that experience back to Wyoming to serve as a voice for advancing our profession and addressing the needs of our community members at the state level.
