PSYCHOANALYTIC DISPATCHES

March 2026

Greetings!

This month’s edition of Psychoanalytic Dispatches highlights several upcoming opportunities and deadlines for members and the broader psychoanalytic community. Inside, you’ll find a call for proposals for the 2027 National Meeting and a call for nominations for leadership roles.

I hope you'll join us at the APsA Town Hall this Sunday, March 8 on Zoom. These gatherings are an opportunity to hear updates from leadership and stay connected with the work of the organization.

Registration is now open for the April installment of the APsA Symposium Series: Standing on the Shoulders of Giants: Generational Transition and the Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Program at BPSI. The program explores contemporary child analytic work and the revitalization of child training in Boston, and offers 2 CME/CE credits.

Finally, please consider sharing this newsletter—or individual links—with colleagues and your broader professional networks. Your help spreading the word about APsA’s prizes, fellowships, and funding opportunities helps expand access to these resources across the field.

Keep reading for more information and details.

Cheers,

Sam Hall, Communications Manager

  • Call for Nominations: You're invited to participate in the nomination process for upcoming leadership positions within the Association. The Nominations Advisory Committee is charged with preparing a list of potential candidates for office to be considered by the Board of Directors this June. The Board will select from our recommendations the slate of nominees to appear on the February 2027 ballot. Any member eligible to vote in Association elections may suggest names for nomination for the offices listed above. Please see the announcement posted to the Association Listserv by Tom Newman on 2/19/26 for more information. Your letter of nomination can be emailed to tnewman@apsa.org.
  • APsA has published a timely new blog post on the APsA website by Kerry Kelly Novick, "How Can We Help Our Children in a Climate of Violence and Unpredictability?" To continue this conversation with the public, the Committee on Public Information is actively compiling member-generated resources for a forthcoming member-sourced blog. We are looking for examples of how you are supporting individuals and families impacted by violence, including reduced-fee services, support groups, or trusted referral resources. In the forthcoming piece we plan to feature APsA’s “Find a Clinician” tool and related pathways to care. If you would like to contribute, please email me at shall@apsa.org.
