POST-ELECTION WEBINAR - HERE'S THE RECAP!

ARAWC is the industry voice for promoting and protecting Texas injury benefit programs.

ARAWC’s state and federal government relations team provided a webinar on December 3 on “Post-election analysis…what the results mean for Texas injury benefit programs.” The webinar highlighted progress ARAWC and its members made this year in protecting and promoting Texas injury benefit programs at both the state and federal level. Looking ahead to 2021, there is still a lot to be done to protect and promote Texas injury benefit programs:

  • The Texas legislature convenes in early January. ARAWC’s government relations team is on the ground, meeting constantly with legislators and staff, prepared to promote and defend competitive injury benefit programs, which are a key component behind the success of the “Texas Model.” Issues may range from defending arbitration, seeking employer COVID-19 liability relief, and responding to efforts to impose any new regulatory requirements or restrictions.

  • At the federal level, 2021 will see a new Administration and new leadership at the Department of Labor. ARAWC’s representation in Washington, DC enables us to stay on top of emerging policy changes which impact Texas injury benefit programs.

  • As in previous years, states beyond Texas are likely to express interest in what makes the Texas Model work so successfully. ARAWC welcomes the opportunity to engage in those discussions, particularly highlighting best practices embodied in ARAWC’s QCARE program.

Continuing to build on past successes, ARAWC’s state and federal government relations team, along with ARAWC public relations, will remain vigilant and focused on defending Texas injury benefit programs from attacks at the state or federal level.

QCARE RENEWALS

The QCARE designation is effective for one year, so those who are currently designated will need to renew at the appropriate time. ARAWC will send renewal notices. Either you or your authorized representative can go to qcare.org to apply for or renew your QCARE designation. QCARE remains a simple, no-cost, online designation.

What QCARE offers to employers:

  • Reputation management by bringing clarity and credibility to your Texas injury benefit program. You are not simply "opting out".

  • Sustaining a Healthy, Competitive Marketplace with employer choice among insurance companies and service professionals.

ARAWC appreciates you maintaining your QCARE designation. QCARE helps you and supports ARAWC's mission of protecting and promoting the distinct, proven advantages of Texas injury benefit programs.
FOUR WAYS MEMBERS SUPPORT ARAWC
1. Share ARAWC membership information with your clients and business partners. For an example you can share in management reports and client stewardship meetings, click here.

2. Encourage your clients to get the QCARE designation. Service providers can serve as an authorized representative to get the QCARE designation for their clients.

3. Volunteer to serve on an ARAWC committee. Click here to volunteer.
