We're excited to, once again, be a host for United Ministries Interfaith Hospitality Network in partnership with St. Matthew UMC May 5-12 . The Interfaith Hospitality Network allows families with children to stay together as they confront the daunting challenges of tackling homelessness.
The network consists of local congregations who share hospitality (in the form of emergency shelter, meals, and short-term housing) with homeless families that include children, and to help those families achieve self-sufficiency and self-fulfillment.
Volunteers are needed for dinner hosts, evening hosts, overnight host, and a moving crew! Sign up as an individual, family, or group.

Triple P Parent Workshop: Raising Resilient Children
|
|
We're excited to host a Triple P Parent Workshop on Tuesday, May 7 from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm here at ARBC. This will be our first of three sessions and will focus on “Raising Resilient Children”. The workshop is free and childcare will be provided.
Dinner catered by Zoes Kitchen will be available for purchase ($10/per person) and there will be some amazing door prizes too!
The max capacity for this first session will be 45 people and is open to church members, preschool parents, after school parents, teachers, and others in our community. Register with the church office to reserve your spot.
Here’s a brief intro into the course taken from the Triple P Positive
Parenting Program leaflet: “One of the most important tasks of parenthood is helping children learn to deal with their emotions. All children experience periods of stress in their lives and need the emotional skills to deal with it. Children’s emotional resilience, or ability to cope with their feelings, is important to their long-term happiness, well-being, and success in life. Emotional resilience involves six key skills: recognizing and accepting feelings, expressing feelings appropriately, having a positive outlook, developing effective ways of coping, being able to deal with negative feelings, and being able to manage stressful life events.”

If you or someone in your family is graduating from high school or college, please let us know so that we may recognize them in our upcoming list of graduates. Email or call the church office with: graduate’s name, name of school, degree, etc.
