Week of January 22, 2019
Wednesday Night Activities
We're excited for the changes to our Wednesday nights that will bring our community of faith closer together in service, fellowship, and learning. Each month will be broken down into a time in which ARBC is on mission together, learning from community leaders about the ways their faith intersects with their work, in fellowship around the tables learning about one another, and gathering outside the doors of the church to build community around us.
THIS WEEK:
JANUARY 23: ARBC AROUND THE TABLE
Dinner at Panera on Augusta St. (come anytime between 5:45-7:00pm)
JANUARY 30: ARBC IN FORMATION
Dinner; Faith talks/Bible study

We're excited to welcome Susan McLarty for ARBC In Formation. Susan is the first Coordinator of the Greenville Homeless Alliance and has held this position since May 1, 2018. The GHA is a coalition that was loosely formed in 2014 in response to an acute increase in homeless individuals drawn to an area of Greenville that became known as “Tent City.”

Join us for dinner at 5:30 pm and to hear from Susan at 6:15 pm.
Quarterly Business Meeting
We will have our next Quarterly Business meeting during worship on Sunday, January 27. Please make plans to join us.
Worship Care
Several volunteers are needed once a month for Worship Care in the toddler room. Please let Bridget know if you can help!
ARBC Women's Retreat
Don't forget to sign-up for our Women's Mountain Retreat. The trip is planned for February 22-24, 2019. The cost is $170. Please register with Bridget by January 27.
Mission Trip Fundraiser
Mark your calendars for our first mission trip fundraiser ! On Sunday, January 27 at 5:30 pm we are having a chili cook-off and dessert bake-off. Enter your famous chili recipe or one of your amazing desserts, and help us raise money for our Appalachia Mission Trip. Anyone can enter! You will have the chance to vote for your favorite chili and dessert, and prizes will be awarded to the chefs who receive the most votes.

Let the church office know if you would like to enter.

2019 Mission Trip
Our 2019 Appalachia Mission Trip is planned for August 3-9, 2019. We have partnered with Praying Pelicans Missions to help facilitate our experience and are excited for a meaningful week of service together. All ages are invited to participate in this trip! We will be working in a town somewhere in the Appalachia (destination will be decided based upon the abilities of our workers and the type of work that we will be doing). It is our goal to keep the trip below $250 per person, while the anticipated cost will be around $450 per person. There will be fundraising opportunities in which participants will be asked to attend/work. In addition to this, we hope to offer scholarships/financial assistance as needed.

Interest forms and commitment letters are available outside the church office.  Please turn in the forms and pay the deposit by January 27 to secure your spot.

If you are unable to attend the trip but would like to provide financial support, we encourage you to consider sponsoring a participant!
