Hello fellow sailor

It's almost time!

It's nearly one month until we see you in Las Palmas and we are really looking forward to meeting you. We understand the large amount of preparation you have undertaken to get to this point, and how exciting it is to see your dreams become a reality.

When you arrive at rally check-in in Las Palmas, we will book your in-person safety and equipment inspection. Each crew member will also be issued with a personalised crew pass featuring their name and photo. For this, it is essential the crew is registered online.

This Rally Update contains:

  • Las Palmas programme and activities
  • ARC Foresta tour
  • ARC Dinghy Race
  • How to invite crew
  • Las Palmas Marina orientation video
  • Autumn Webinar Series

We have a fantastic programme of social activities, safety demonstrations and ocean sailing seminars planned for your time in Las Palmas. Remember, that the theme for the costume party is jungle. Think ahead about what your costume will be. The more vibrant and creative, the better! There will be prizes for the best costumes on the night.

It is absolutely essential that you book your berth in Las Palmas Marina and inform them of your expected arrival date. Details about how to do this can be found on page 9 of the Las Palmas Local Information Section of your Rally Handbook.

We hope you feel confident in your preparations so far, but remember that we are here to support you on every step of your adventure. If you have any questions, please contact Martine and Emma in our Cowes office on mail@worldcruising.com or +44 (0)1983 296060

We'll see you soon!

ARC Foresta Tour

Since 2010, we have partnered with local enviornmental group 'Foresta' who plant trees in in the mountains above Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

ARC and ARC+ sailors have planted more than 4,000 trees, in doing so rebuilding the native forest to capture carbon and rainfall and improve biodiversity.

Join us for a fun half day trip to plant trees. Those taking part will be picked up by bus from the ARC Village at 09:00 and will return by 14:00.

The cost of 25€ per person is a contribution towards the trees. Bus travel and light refreshments are included.

The trip is suitable for adults and children who can walk 1-2km on uneven ground with some steep hills.

Places on this popular tour are limited, so book early to secure your place.

Check out a video of last year's Foresta project here.

ARC Dinghy Race

Sign up for the iconic ARC Dinghy Race!

Immediately after the ARC Opening Ceremony there will be a dinghy race across Las Palmas Marina.

Any paddle craft is welcomed and we encourage you to wear costumes and decorate your vessel of choice as creatively as possible.

The Dinghy Race is a wet, wild and incredibly fun ocassion, where you and your crew can embrace the ARC social spirit to the full.

Invite your crew to the crew list

If you haven't already done so, it is essential that you invite your crew to be part of your crew list.

Adding crew to your crew list is done in the dashboard section of the website.

Registered crew will receive:

  • Personalised crew passes which are necessary for access to shoreside social events
  • Key updates about the Rally
  • Important information to aid them with personal preparation

If you are having difficulty adding crew to your crew list, check out this handy 'how to' document.

Caribbean Tips from Noonsite

Caribbean Clearance Checklist

Clearance works differently from cruising in Europe and every country has its own Customs and Immigration requirements. Use Noonsite to check what you need before you arrive.

BEFORE YOU GO

• Check the specific Noonsite Country Clearance for Saint Lucia

• Check Advance Online Notification requirements

• Saint Lucia uses SailClear

• Check crew requirements: Do your crew need a visa?

• Pet on board? Check the entry requirements and get the necessary documents

ON ARRIVAL

• Review the rules: Customs & Immigration requirements, documents, fees & restrictions

• Fly the Q (Quarantine) flag

• Check in promptly

• Dress smartly when visiting authorities – no swimwear or flip-flops

• Don’t forget a pen, patience & a positive attitude!

BEFORE DEPARTURE

• Check out before leaving

• Keep your clearance paperwork & receipts organised

There is no single “Caribbean clearance procedure”. Always check the individual destination on Noonsite before you sail.

ARC participants get 3 months of Noonsite Premium FREE when signing up for Annual Premium Membership, including a free formalities wallet to keep your clearance paperwork in order. Just use special offer code NOONARC26.
