Re: Avery COVID-19 Update
Dear Avery Research Center Supporters,
As mentioned in our prior update, the Avery Research Center will continue to be closed to the public until further notice. This means all events, tours, meetings, research, and outreach will be postponed indefinitely. We will make every effort to reschedule as more information is available.
Throughout our physical closure, the Avery Research Center has transitioned to complete digital services regarding archival resources and outreach. Please be advised that research priority will be given only to College of Charleston faculty, staff, and students for the remainder of the semester. CofC personnel can follow
this link for more information regarding the College of Charleston Libraries E-Learning resources
. We will continue to field all research and instruction requests and we appreciate your patience as we adjust to the new workflow.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, but we believe this is the best way to ensure the wellbeing of our Avery Research Center supporters, staff, and campus community. The Avery Research Center is committed to supplying a high level of service to the College of Charleston and Lowcountry community and will continue offer our resources to those in need.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Daron Lee Calhoun II at

With our best,
The Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture
