International Women's Day luncheon on March 8th
International Women's Day is March 8th and the Soroptimist International of the Adirondacks, Zonta Club of Glens Falls, and the AAUW Adirondack Branch are hosting a luncheon at the Courtyard by Marriot in Lake George, featuring a talk on Women: Mental Wellness into the Future by Dr. Kimberly Brayton, PhD.
The event is from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, with a buffet style lunch at 11:30 am.

1950's Themed Trivia Night to Benefit the Moreau Community Center Youth Programs
The Moreau Community Center at 144 Main Street in South Glens Falls will host 1950’s Themed Trivia Night on Friday, March 22nd 6:00-9:00 pm. Doors open at 5pm. Eighteen teams of four will answer seven rounds of ten questions, one category related to the 1950’s era. Attendees are encouraged to don their finest poodle skirts, leather jackets, and garb of the era. Prizes donated by community organizations will be awarded to the top three teams. Beer, wine, soft drinks, food, door prizes, and raffles will be available. Tickets are $25 per player/$10 per spectator and include plenty of food, an ice cream bar, and one adult beverage or soda. Additional adult beverages are available for a $5 donation.
“We are so pleased to be able to offer this event again,” said Donna Nichols, Executive Director of the center and self-proclaimed trivia buff who will be the Trivia Master for the evening. “Our first year was in 2019 and it was lots of fun. This event is really becoming a bi-annual favorite in our community. We are looking for players and sponsors to support the evening, and thankful to all who help us support our youth programs.” All proceeds will benefit The Moreau Community Center Youth Programming which includes a preschool, Kid’s Korner before-and-after-school program, Summer Lunch Bunch, weekly backpack food program, and the weekly Bulldog Zone teen after-school program.
Founded in 1977, the Moreau Community Center, a 501(3)c not-for-profit organization, is one of the major human service agencies serving citizens of all ages in northern Saratoga and surrounding parts of Washington and Warren Counties. Pioneer Strengthens Support for Capital Region Businesses, Names Jenifer Marten as Vice President and Business Banking Team Leader
With more than two decades of local and regional commercial banking and leadership experience, Marten to guide enhanced approach to serving the financial needs of community businesses
Pioneer Bancorp, Inc. A local and regional commercial banking executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience, she will spearhead Pioneer’s efforts to develop and grow commercial business relationships, including overseeing a strengthened strategic approach to meeting the financial needs of community businesses.
In her new role, Marten will guide an enhanced go-to-market strategy focused on improving and expanding access for Pioneer’s local business customers to critical financial resources. Marten most recently served as Vice President and Commercial Relationship Manager at Saratoga National Bank, where she managed a growing and complex commercial portfolio. Prior to that, she held roles as Commercial Relationship Manager at Ballston Spa National Bank, Key Center Team Leader at KeyBank, and Assistant Branch Manager at First National Bank of Scotia.

Marten is a graduate of Siena College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing and management. She has been extremely active in the community, serving as member and chair of the board of directors of the Southern Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce; member of the board of directors of the Mechanicville Community Center; and member of the Ellis Foundation and Women’s Day Out Committee, among others.
