ARCC's Initiative Summaries for 2018-2019 are Available Now
The ARCC posted the 2018-2019 initiative summaries. Click here to view the summaries. Summaries are organized by state (KY, TN, VA, and WV), and regional initiatives. Topics include personalized learning, chronic absenteeism, STEM education, algebra readiness, and more. 
The ARCC at ICF

One of fifteen regional comprehensive centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the ARCC at  ICF partners with  RMC to assist state education agencies. Recently, ICF won two prestigious awards: Contractor of the Year and Program of the Year. These awards were presented by the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the Professional Services Council at the 16th Annual Greater Washington Government Contract Awards.

Local Know How: Math Matters Presenter Honored

During the first in the series of Local Know-How: Appalachian Education Innovations produced by the ARCC, Dr. Caitlin Howley interviewed a team of educators from Pocahontas County, WV to discover how they are changing mathematics education in their small, rural district. Joanna Burt-Kinderman, the math coach for the district, was recently named 2019 Education Week Leader to Learn From.

State Board Ideas Exchange: An Interview with Jobi Lawrence from the ARCC

On November 1-2, 2018, the ARCC facilitated a State Boards of Education (SBE) Ideas Exchange in Nashville, TN. The objectives of this exchange were to provide professional learning, and an opportunity for in-person collaboration and networking among SBEs. In this article, we discuss the event with ARCC Associate Director Jobi Lawrence, who planned and facilitated this gathering.

West Virginia: STEM Update
