Monday, July 3rd, was the hottest average global temperature ever recorded. Extreme droughts, floods, and weather events have been at an all-time high. Many parts of the world are literally burning up; 20 million acres of Canadian land have gone up in smoke; the Northeast US had a winter of unprecedented amounts of snow and cold. Greenland is warmer than ever. Ice shields and glaciers are melting faster than expected; climate models can’t keep up. The Gulf Stream is confused, and so are farmers. Species are declining and going extinct at alarming rates; ecosystems are teetering, and oceans are acidifying.
Yet, at the same time, more and more people are waking up and engaging, particularly young people.
This is the good news, along with the return of AREDAY-IMPACT in October, which will host the brightest minds in renewable energy and environmental films. This year, AREDAY-IMPACT will host a group of passionate producers, directors, activists, scientists, entrepreneurs, politicians, and indigenous leaders at eTown Hall in Boulder, Colorado. We'd like you to join us at this exclusive networking event, where we aim to create meaningful action around some of the biggest problems the world has ever seen. This will not be a pity party — we expect innovative business solutions and policy change to lead the way — and by doing so, create new and profitable solutions.
We are still in the early planning stages for AREDAY, but please contact me if you'd like to attend, want to become a panelist, or if you'd like access to one of our exclusive networking events: info@areday.net
