Integrated NextGen Solutions

Welcome back to Jump Seat.  We enjoyed meeting with many of you at this year’s NBAA-BACE event. The most discussed topic within our booth was Izon and the NextGen solutions that live exclusively on that platform. Let’s discuss those tools and the value that they bring to your operation. Before we jump into that, though: Izon is absolutely FREE, the sign-up process is straightforward, and it will become the primary way to connect to ARINCDirect services. 

The Latest in Flight Planning 

Ahead of EBACE in May, we soft-launched the beta version of our NextGen flight planning solution with the intent to gather your feedback. Since then, we’ve applied that guidance to our roadmaps that outline future enhancements. Overwhelmingly, we heard that the ability to file a flight plan within the NextGen flight planning tool was at the top of your wish list. And to be honest, it was at the top of ours too.  

So, in our most recent release, the NextGen Flight Planning application introduced the functionality to file a flight plan with ATC, with emphasis on the mandatory fields for filing. 

Future releases will expand upon the parameters you can review and edit in this process including ability to update or cancel a NextGen flight plan. For increased awareness, the filing status of a flight plan will appear on the Leg List and within the Leg Details and filing notifications will default to the PIC. In the future, you'll be able to identify more recipients of this notification.   

The ability to access NextGen Flight Planning via a browser in your mobile or tablet device was also deemed important. As such, we have expanded compatibility across the following: 

The Latest in Calendar Exchange 

Calendar Exchange, our NextGen scheduling solution, is already available to ARINCDirect flight planning and FOS Enterprise and Professional subscribers. The latest enhancements include integration with NextGen Flight Planning, Tasks and Services, and Flight Logging. Tasks and Services and Flight Logging are part of our Scheduling Bundle along with Timeline Manager.

Integration of our NextGen and Legacy Flight Planning solutions allows you to plan and schedule your flights with ease. You may now send leg data from Calendar Exchange directly into NextGen Flight Planning or from NextGen Flight Planning into Calendar Exchange. This feature brings efficiency to Calendar Exchange and Flight Planning users by eliminating the need to build a leg in both applications.  

Tasks and Services provides increased operational planning awareness with the ability to select departure and arrival services and assign service statuses. 

The Flight Logging tool provides the ability for crew members to conduct post-flight logging. Another release to look forward to, FOS Sync, will give FOS users the ability for their FOS data to be integrated with the various NextGen Scheduling applications. 

The Value of Izon 

Izon is the only location where you can experience our NextGen solutions and the integration amongst them. Furthermore, the single sign-on solution allows you to navigate between our products without visiting multiple websites and maintaining separate usernames and passwords. And now, Izon is more secure than ever with the ability to implement Multi-Factor Authentication at the user level. This provides added protection for your account and all the information stored within. We encourage all customers to migrate to Izon for launching their ARINCDirect tools and services. Best of all? Izon is free to use, and the sign-up process is simple!
