MISSION

Creating a better quality of life for businessess and residents in northeast Detroit.

HOW IT IS COPING WITH THE HEALTH CRISIS AND CONTINUING TO SERVE

We are working with many organizations, offering encouragement and still connecting with many groups, particularly in the Belmont Shopping Center at Eight Mile and Dequindre.

BIGGEST CHALLENGE, BIGGEST SUCCESS

Keeping our organization moving and connected through the health crisis is our biggest challenge. Our biggest success has been continuing to work with our great community partners and staying positive. We are working with the Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan’s office, We send inspirational messages to decrease fear of this plague COVID-19. We are staying informed of local and state government guidelines & forward to all our Belmont Shopping Center and Imperial Markets encouraging customers to obey social distancing and other cautionary methods.
Our partners in this effort are Spectrum Neon, Local Union Engineers 314, Highland Park Reservoir Mural Project - Willie Fasion & Walter Bailey, 3rd District Merchants & Neighborhood Block Clubs, and numerous clergy connected to CUP. Our Digital board in the Belmont Shopping Center informs all Eight Mile traffic to discard used gloves and masks in trash cans and not on the ground. We are trying to start a home family project making masks to give free to essential employees.
