ARPS Weekly Updates: May 4th- May 8th
Good evening and Happy Sunday Owls!

The countdown is on; we are officially in the last month of school (with quite a few things still left to be done). You should give yourselves a pat on the back because YOU are making a difference.

This coming week we have THREE big events on the calendar:

  • ARPS Virtual Variety Show (It's not too late to sign up!) Please reach out to Mrs. Ravita through her website to sign up.

  • Online Scholastic Book Fair (runs through 5/15). Click HERE to check it out and to start shopping.

  • Virtual Art Show that runs through the end of May. Make sure and check this out whether your child has a piece in the show or not. It is REALLY cool! Click HERE.

A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Ravita, Mrs. Balke and Mrs. White for getting these set up! You all are amazing!

Please note that the Family EOY Calendar (below) has been updated to reflect correct and updated dates. If you happened to print the calendar out last week, please recycle it. All dates can also be found on the ARPS Google Calendar (found on our school's website ).

Many thanks to several of our parents and staff members who are collaborating to ensure Kinder Graduation and the The 8th Grade Graduation Clap-Out are meaningful and memorable this year. I'm looking forward to cheering them on and celebrating this milestone with them!

Lastly, May 4th-8th is National Teacher Appreciation Week! Make sure to send a note of thanks and appreciation to your classroom teacher (and to the teachers/staff members that work with your children throughout the year). They are always super stars during "normal" circumstances; this year's additional challenges have skyrocketed their status. We love our teachers! Make sure and let them know.

It's a great day to be an Owl! Thanks for continuing to build UP our community!
Be well,
Mrs. Salmeron, Principal

Did you participate this year?
Coach Zuppas has reached out to the AHA and due to the current pandemic, shipping of the prizes has been put on hold. Our hope is to get your prizes to your child by the last week of May (during materials pick-up). Just know this is on the radar and we'll do the best we can to get those prizes to you when they are delivered. Thank you to everyone who participated in raising over $10,000 for AHA this year on behalf of Aspen Ridge.
´╗┐YOU made a difference!
Order your yearbook now!
We are hoping yearbooks will be ready for pickup before we have checked out for the school year. (If not, we will find a way to get them to you.) Don't miss the opportunity to have this year's memories at your fingertip. The deadline to order is May 15th.
Join us for morning announcements each weekday morning at 9am. The Zoom link can be found on the ARPS Google Calendar. (Click here and scroll to the bottom of the page--Upcoming Events Calendar.)
Aspen Ridge will be providing summer learning packets/books for all PreK-7th grade students returning in the Fall. Books, along with the Summer Reading Challenge, will be ready for pick-up the last week of May. See the Family End of Year Checklist for specific details.
We are finalizing our school supplies list now. Be on the lookout for ordering supplies for the 20-21 school year through Edukit, soon.
Thank you to King Soopers and our families who shop there! With just small contributions on each trip, the 99 families who identify Aspen Ridge as their place to donate raised over $1800 this last quarter! Wow! That's just free money!! Thank you!
A big thank you to Allie Franklin , for organizing our Box Top opportunities throughout the year.

Our most recent contributions (according to my app) show that we have raised $502.90 this year. Thanks for keeping us organized, Allie, even during off-premise learning time.

It's never too late to download the app and start scanning. It's fun, easy to use and you get immediate gratification in knowing you are making a difference (big or small).
A few "finds" for your family...

Some Innovative Opportunities from SVVSD
Innovation Academy (Elementary): Innovation Academy will continue over the summer in a virtual environment for any student interested in using design-thinking and engineering enrichment activities to solve real-world problems. Information can be found at

Does your child thrive in situations where thinking, solving, collaborating, and brainstorming are the norm? Innovation Academy is an exciting summer program in partnership with IBM and taught by St. Vrain Valley School District educators, IBM Volunteers, and other SVVSD High School Students. This program has brought Design Thinking and Real-World Problem Solving to St Vrain students for the past nine years.

This is the first time that the program will be held online and will be open to all elementary students throughout SVVSD without a nomination. If your child is completing kindergarten through 5th grade this May, they are eligible to enroll. Wondering if this is a good fit for your child? Does your child display the following characteristics on a regular basis? See the attached flyer or go straight to the WEBSITE to read more about IAO and enroll your child for an exciting summer opportunity. Registration opens May 1!

Local libraries may be closed, but the New York Public Library is offering over 300,000 downloadable books (for FREE).
