Subject: Shooting Investigation
Location: 100 Block of East 11th Street
COVINGTON, KY- The Criminal Investigations Division and the Evidence Collection Unit are actively investigating a shooting in the Eastside neighborhood.
At around 11:30 p.m. Friday night, patrol was called to an apartment in the 100 block of East 11th Street in Covington following a report of a shooting. Officers arriving on the scene found a teenage juvenile victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to UC Medical Center by ambulance, where they are listed in critical condition.
Detectives are working to identify a suspect, but early indications suggest this is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

****ARREST UPDATE****
4/26/2026, 2130 Hrs
Today, just after 6:00 pm, Ryan Cupp, 18, of Independence, turned himself in and is being held at the Kenton Co. Detention Center. A warrant for his arrest was issued over the weekend. Cupp is charged with Assault 1st Degree in the shooting of the juvenile victim in this case. The victim is a 13-year-old male who remains hospitalized in critical condition.
We would like to thank all the members of the public who called us with information in this case, or with information that helped in the search for Cupp. We'd also like to thank our partners at the Independence and Cincinnati Police Departments, who generously assisted us with this investigation.
Special thanks to the members of the Patrol Bureau, Criminal Investigation Division, Forensics Unit, D-Team, and CLIU, who worked tirelessly throughout the weekend to bring this case to a successful resolution. Their dedication and relentless efforts were instrumental in solving this case.
