Music for Play-the-Recorder 2023
March is Play-the-Recorder Month, and the 2023 Play-the-Recorder-Month (PtRM) preparations are well under way. The ARS is again planning to make the most of the month with a challenging project that we can all enjoy together. Members can find the piece composed for this occasion, "Quo Vadis?" by Victor Eijkhout, in print with the magazine. It can also be found online via the PtRM and Music Libraries pages, where there are play-along tracks as well as videos so you can learn the piece on your own.

Today is Giving Tuesday: ARS Fall Appeal Underway
The biggest ARS fundraiser of the year is underway right now with a mailing to past donors and others. Donations make up a large segment of ARS income and are critical to offering ARS programs and resources. This year's letter features Miyo Aoki's story and how she used her training to help children become recorder players: read more here. Watch your inbox (or even spam) every Tuesday in December for an email from the American Recorder Society with more stories of recorder players helped by the ARS. And please, donate if you can.

ARS Gathers ‘Round The Table (Virtually)
On December 3rd at 2:00pm Eastern time on Zoom, the ARS Member Benefits committee will host a virtual round table for chapter/consort/recorder orchestra representatives.
At the last meeting, twenty-three representatives of chapters across the nation from New York City to San Francisco met, in many cases for the first time. There was great feedback that this was a valuable meeting so leaders could compare notes and share what has been happening in their groups. If you are a chapter representative and would like to learn more about the meeting, please contact ARS Board member/Member Benefits Committee co-chair Phil Hollar. Not a member of the ARS Rep Chat email list? Let him know you would like to opt in.
