Member Benefit - Calendar of Events

Are you aware of the Calendar of Events that the ARS hosts on the main page of our website? In addition to this newsletter, the events calendar lists classes, both in person and virtual, workshops, and concerts that are available to you.

As a member, you can submit your event to be included in our events calendar on our main webpage. It's a great way to advertise and keep in touch with all the recorder-related events across the Americas!

ARS membership going up by $5 starting Sept. 1, 2025

ARS dues for Standard individual members will be going up by $5 on September 1, to $60. Any renewals paid before then will be at our current $55. While inflation over the last 10 years exceeds 35%, ARS dues have increased only half that much! An increase in membership dues may be necessary for the ARS to do its work, but our full list of member benefits will remind you what a value this is. The option for a digital membership, with American Recorder magazine delivered electronically rather than as a printed copy, is still $5 less than the standard membership price (use discount code DIGITAL).

"Amateur Hour": Most composers devoted their entire lives to music. For some, however, composition was a passionate secondary vocation, something undertaken around and alongside their day-to-day obligations. We’ll sample glorious music by tanners, judges, pig-catchers, cabinet makers, and more.
