West Suburban Early Music Society Members Play at Elementary School
Darleen Kay and Linda Schub, members of the West Suburban Early Music Society in suburban Chicago, played two pieces in a recorder quartet for the children at Whittier elementary school in Downers Grove on April 17, 2023. The songs were Sanctus by Carlos Rossini, arranged by Darleen Kay, and Sweet Ireland, composed and arranged by Darleen. The quartet, which played during the intermission of a concert presented by the Senior Suburban Orchestra, was well received by the children. It was good exposure to recorders for the young people.
