ART Now!
Introducing ART Now, a program brought to you by LTYC LEARN. Each week, LTYC will continue to deliver a virtual arts lesson in one of our offered contents for you to experience in the comfort of your own home. ART Now serves as LTYCs virtual response to ensure that students and artists can participate in arts learning anywhere, and at any time. Through arts tutoring, virtual classes, webinars and more, the Performing and Creative arts can always be right in the palm of your hands. It is one of the many new programs that will be introduced in the coming months as part of LTYCs newest initiative, LTYC LEARN. 
Portrait Remix Challenge
Have you ever tried creating a portrait without actual paint? Or recreating a famous masterpiece with fruits and vegetables? Now is the perfect time to challenge yourself to new creative heights and push the envelope!

This week's ART NOW lesson is the Portrait Remix Challenge, inspired by Pablo Picasso's "Tete de femme". We put our special touch on this challenge and used black beans, green peppers, lemons, carrots, pasta, red onions and fresh basil to create a work of art!

Join the challenge! To participate:

  1. Find your favorite portrait or photo by a notable artist.
  2. Gather your supplies: house hold items, pasta, string, buttons, fruits and vegetables, objects, clothing etc.
  3. Arrange the items on a blank piece of paper or a clean background to replicate your image of choice.
  4. Be sure to consider the color, shapes, and sizes of the objects to get them as close to scale as possible.
  5. Think outside the box and let your imagination run wild.
  6. Once your items have been fully arranged, take a picture and share your work with us! Tag us @ltycarts on Facebook and Instagram!

"Corey & The Care Compass" Virtual Auditions

Please prepare a 1 minute monologue and 16 bars of rap, spoken word and/or a musical selection.

Seeking adult actors for the following roles:

  • Announcer/Care Meter Operator
  • Bus Driver/Mime you Manners Marvin – Bus Driver (40) – Marvin (fairytale character, mime/sign language) 
  • Mom/Ms. Jones – Mom (35) Ms. Jones – Bus Assistant, Paraprofessional 
  • Richard/Rapping Rhythm Ray – Richard (5th Grade) Ray (fairytale character, rapper, 18)
  • Paige/Peyton – Paige (4th Grade) Peyton (fairytale character, mural artists, 25)
  • Corey – 5th Grade – aspiring performing gamer (hip hop dance)

*Actors must be able to play multiple roles and have the ability to dance and learn choreography.* Call backs will be held virtually on August 25, 2020 at 3PM.

ART Now FY 21 RFP
The submission deadline has been extended to August 15, 2020
LTYC is continuing our ART Now initiative beginning in August 2020 and expanding our resources. We are seeking ART Now FY 21 Proposals from artists and arts educators to deliver a 15-20 minute lesson. Individuals may apply and submit more than one proposal. LTYC LEARN Virtual Arts Camp!

LTYC LEARN's Virtual Arts Camp is 5 weeks of online arts for students and families. Through live virtual classrooms, portfolio creation, virtual field trips and home-based projects, LTYC LEARN camp will ignite creativity and inspire us all to reimagine the art of learning. LTYC LEARN is a space to share ideas and resources, access creative opportunities and experiences and collaborate with a network of other arts lovers your age!
