OF MISSOURI INHERENT RISK BILL

The Missouri Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (MOARC) and National ARVC are proud to have partnered to support the signing of House Bill 369, an Inherent Risk Bill, in Missouri. The bill specifically offers owners, operators and employees of campgrounds and RV parks protection from frivolous lawsuits when an injury or death occurs as a result of an inherent risk of camping.

Jeff Hoffman is a lifelong member of the industry, starting out with his family business in 1968. He has helped build ARVC member-park Sandusky/Bayshore KOA Holiday in Sandusky, Ohio into a great park. After many years of involvement with the Ohio Campground Owners Association (OCOA), he was elected president in 2020, just as COVID took affect.

ARVC member-park Cherry Hill Park in College Park, Maryland is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year! In 1921, when Jacob and Rose Gurevich moved out to the country from Washington, D.C., they bought a plot of land and started Cherry Hill Poultry Farm. They set up a general store right by the road and allowed travelers to set up camp behind the store, and ever since the family has been in the outdoor hospitality industry!
Through the years the family has owned the park and continued to adapt to what consumers wanted, going from farm to Cherry Hill Mobile Home Village to Cherry Hill Trailer Park to Cherry Hill Campcity. Now, 100 years later, just a mile down the road Cherry Hill Park is a three-time ARVC Park of the Year Award winner and one of the premier parks in the industry.
