The Senate last week passed the PPP Extension Act of 2021 with overwhelming support, extending the deadline for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to May 31. The bill, which was signed into law by President Biden on Tuesday, provides an additional two more months to apply for loans and gives the Small Business Administration (SBA) an additional 30 days to process loans.

The added timeframe allows small businesses to apply for second draw loans, will lead to many banks reopening closed programs and could open the door for further guidance from the SBA, including more flexibility for those that have already applied. Learn more below.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of Hog 100-pound Propane Cylinders on March 24, 2021. The propane cylinders manufactured with a handle below the weld on the side could leak propane gas, posing a fire hazard. The recommendation is for the company to refund and replace and the recall impacts about 500 units.
