Dear ASA family,
We all have yet again achieved a milestone of growth and wisdom together. We all cheered for our scholars during their performance at the International Jazz day 2024 while they swayed us off our feet with their coordination, rhythm and energy. We were spellbound at their technical acumen during STEM Expo while they were flawless in explaining circuits, sensors, 3D printers and their robots. Family Day out to Mussulo brought the ASA community together, with grandparents sharing childhood anecdotes to teachers sharing classroom gossips: It was a day to rejoice. A movie and lunch date for our ever so dedicated team of teachers turned out to be an occasion of celebration in gratitude. Summer camp at campus was aimed at holistic wellbeing with Lifeskills, Fun cooking, Tailoring, Capoheira, STEM and Dramatics as major themes focused on emotional regulation, choices and consequences, sustainable development, balance and coordination, precision and perfection.
Our Annual Graduation Day was nothing short of extravaganza. It was heartwarming to witness grandparents clicking with graduands, mothers smiling amidst tears, dads proud of their little ones, siblings standing by them in their moment of accolades and teachers just soaking in another milestone being achieved with their hardwork and commitment.
We are grateful to each of you, as you make American Schools of Angola, a unique ecosystem where each member strives to #BeExtraordinary.
Best Wishes,
Dr. Babita Parashar

My son (Djelany) has been attending American Schools of Angola since 2021, when moved back to Angola.
Since he started school in English, following the Montessori method, and was being homeschooled since Covid, I was afraid that a traditional school in Portuguese would be a dramatic adaptation for him. Besides that, Djelany is a driven and independent student so we were also looking for a school that would honour his style of learning and inspire him to develop his abilities.
| |
Fortunately, during our research we came across ASA - American Schools of Angola - and it seemed that it would be a good fit for him. We easily booked the visit to the school through the website and it was "compatibility at first sight".
We did apply and benefited from a scholarship and the rest is history...a great history!
From the individual yet integrative mode of teaching , the small classes and its layout, modern online study platforms, teachers from different backgrounds and nationalities, extracurricular activities that encourage and develops socialization opportunities and skills and last but not the least the introduction of our children into the amazing world of culture through the Resiliart Project , are just few of the reasons why both Djelany and I are always excited for a school day.
As a parent, I appreciate the mentorship group's weekly feedback, the open communication and cooperative strategies to achieve the objectives that we set for, and with Djelany.
I Am happy and proud that the American Schools of Angola manages to accomplish a conglomerate of views and experiences that broadens the perspective of the children, while embracing their individuality, goals and aspirations.
Well done ASA!

STUDENTS ABOUT THE WORLD HEALTH DAY
World Health Day is an annual event held on April 7th to raise awareness about global health challenges and encourage healthy lifestyles. This day gives a chance to focus on a specific health issue that affects people all around the world. In this article, I will discuss the significance of World Health Day, its history, previous year's themes, and the necessity of promoting health and well-being globally.
World Health Day began in 1948, when the World Health Organization (WHO) conducted the first World Health Assembly.
| |
|
The assembly proposed establishing a particular day to commemorate WHO's inception and raise awareness of global health challenges. Since 1950, World Health Day has been commemorated on April 7th, the anniversary of the World Health Organization's inception. The day was originally observed in 1950 and has since acted as a platform to raise awareness of major health concerns and encourage measures to enhance people's health and well-being throughout the world.
Globe Health Day is extremely important because it allows people all around the globe to organize around a specific health problem that is of relevance to them. Each year, the WHO chooses a theme to highlight a key aspect of public health. This subject serves as a focus point for activities and events aimed at raising awareness and encouraging action on the chosen health concern. The World Health Organization (WHO) uses World Health Day to raise awareness of key health issues, lobby for policy and intervention implementation, and urge individuals to take proactive efforts toward improved health.
To summarize, World Health Day is an important global forum for raising awareness about major health concerns, advocating for measures, and promoting activities to enhance health and well-being throughout the world. World Health Day highlights the interdependence of health with wider development goals, as well as the importance of holistic approaches to addressing global health concerns. World Health Day, which focuses on various health issues, acts as a catalyst for organizing action, encouraging collaboration, and pushing good change in the field of public health. As we honor World Health Day, we must acknowledge the crucial role of health in creating our world's future and reaffirm our commitment to promote everyone's health and well-being.
In my opinion, the World Health Day is important to Promoting Healthy Lifestyles so that individuals embrace healthy behaviors and lifestyles, which may help them avoid sickness and enhance their general well-being. Whether through educational campaigns, screenings, or community activities, these programs enable people to make educated health decisions.

World Health Day is celebrated on the 7 April every year to celebrate the creation of the WHO (World Health Organization). The World Health Organization is the agency that interlaces nations, partners, and promotes wealth. They try their hardest to keep the world safe and help those who need it most. WHO is in the lead in expanding global health coverage and coordinating the world’s response to health emergencies.
Promoting healthier coverage, from pregnancy to taking care of the elderly. Their ambition is to achieve good health for all science-based policies and programs. The WHO works with 194 Member States across 6 regions and on the ground in 150 plus locations, the WHO team works to improve everyone’s ability to enjoy good health and well-being. Cooperation is at the heart of what they do, from governments and civil societies to international organizations, foundations, advocates, researchers, health workers, and everyone whose interest is to promote world health and the well-being of the human race.
In my point of view, this day is important because we sometimes need to be reminded that we should take care of ourselves, life is only one and we should value that and make the most of it. The human race has developed a lot throughout these millions of years, and life has changed a lot, one of the things that contributed to this was health, health is something that we should take care of to continue evolving like we are. As the WHO would say, “Stay healthy, Stay blessed”.

World Health Day is a yearly worldwide observance on April 7th, raising awareness about various health issues and promoting healthier living. The World Health Organization (WHO) established the occasion in 1948 to commemorate its founding and draw attention to pressing global health challenges. April 7th was chosen to mark the anniversary of the foundation of the WHO because it serves as an opportunity for governments, non-governmental organizations, and individuals to come together and address key health concerns facing communities worldwide.
| |
The celebration of World Health Day is essential for several reasons. Firstly, it provides a platform to address basic health issues that affect individuals across the globe, such as infectious diseases, mental health, and non-communicable diseases, such as heart disease, cancer, chronic respiratory disease, and diabetes. World Health Day serves as a call to action, urging governments and organizations to prioritize healthcare initiatives and invest in public health infrastructure. Moreover, it encourages people to take charge of their well-being by promoting healthy habits and preventive measures.
I believe the celebration of World Health Day is crucial in cultivating a collective commitment to worldwide well-being. In an interconnected world, the well-being of one community can significantly impact others. By devoting a day to focus on health issues, we acknowledge the importance of collaboration and shared responsibility in tackling worldwide health issues. Moreover, it serves as a reminder that everybody deserves access to quality healthcare regardless of nationality or financial status. As we celebrate World Health Day, we contribute to building a healthier world for everyone.

World Health Day, observed annually on April 7th, serves as a pivotal reminder of the importance of prioritizing health on a global scale. Established by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948, this day commemorates the founding of the WHO and aims to raise awareness about pressing health issues worldwide.
At its core, World Health Day underscores the fundamental right of every individual to attain the highest possible standard of health.
| |
It transcends geographical boundaries and socioeconomic disparities, advocating for accessible healthcare for all. This universal principle resonates deeply, especially in a world grappling with multifaceted health challenges.
Each year, World Health Day focuses on a specific theme, shedding light on pertinent health concerns. From combating infectious diseases to addressing mental health stigma, these themes reflect the evolving landscape of global health. By highlighting key issues, World Health Day prompts dialogue, mobilizes resources, and catalyzes action towards positive change. Moreover, World Health Day serves as a platform for acknowledging the tireless efforts of healthcare professionals and frontline workers. Their dedication and resilience in promoting health and saving lives deserve unwavering recognition. Whether in hospitals, communities, or remote regions, their commitment remains unwavering, embodying the spirit of compassion and solidarity.
In recent years, World Health Day has gained heightened significance amidst the unprecedented challenges posed by pandemics such as COVID-19. The pandemic underscored the interconnectedness of health systems worldwide and the imperative of global cooperation in combating health emergencies. It reinforced the need for robust healthcare infrastructure, equitable vaccine distribution, and proactive measures to safeguard public health. Beyond crises, World Health Day fosters a culture of prevention and health promotion. It emphasizes the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles, fostering supportive
environments, and promoting disease prevention strategies. By empowering individuals with knowledge and resources, World Health Day paves the way for healthier communities and a brighter future.
I think World Health Day is an important day because it’s meant create awareness of a
specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health OrganizationWorld Health Day stands as a beacon of hope and solidarity, uniting nations in their quest for better health outcomes. As we commemorate this day, let us reaffirm our commitment to advancing health equity, strengthening healthcare systems, and prioritizing the well-being of all individuals. Together, we can build a healthier, more

Established in 1950, World Health Day is an important event that includes a theme each year that is meant to draw attention to a current issue in the world. World Health Day is celebrated every year to raise awareness about health issues that affect people all over the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) has 194 member states who are tasked putting together regional, local, and international events on this day related to the particular health theme.
I think World Health Day is importante because people with health issues need attention from the public so they be helped with what they need, also because not everyone with health issues has the conditions to go to a expensive hospital so other people from the outside need to help and raise awareness.
