CMS secures win for physicians
At CMS's urging, DOI removes part of Colorado Option Section 1332 waiver request

In a win for Colorado physicians, the Division of Insurance removed a part of the Section 1332 waiver request for the Colorado Option that the Colorado Medical Society warned would decrease competition in the health plan marketplace by allowing the insurance commissioner to restrict options that may be available to consumers among non-Colorado Option plans. Volunteer opportunity: Give your input on Colorado Medicine
The Colorado Medical Society is looking for 8-10 members to volunteer to join the Colorado Medicine Editorial Board. We need physicians from all backgrounds and practice settings to help us diversify and enrich our flagship publication.
Apply for CMS's Jane Nugent Cochems Trust disbursement Financial help for physicians in need

The Colorado Medical Society administers grants from the Jane Nugent Cochems Charitable Trust to offer short-term financial help to physicians in need. The average grant to approved applicants ranges from $5,000 to $10,000. The application process is simple and the review process is completely confidential. The deadline to apply has been extended to Dec. 15, 2021. To download an application form, go to cms.org/about/cochems-trust. For more information, email membership@cms.org.
2022 CMS Election: Call for nominations

The nomination period for the 2022 Colorado Medical Society Election is open through Jan. 31, 2022. The election will be held in August 2022. CMS encourages all members to consider nominating a colleague or self-nominating for one of the open leadership positions: president-elect (one position) or AMA delegation (four positions). The election manual, which contains all of the information a potential candidate needs about the duties, eligibility, requirements and election process, is available on the CMS website.
