Confidential peer assistance to continue
After more than two years, the Colorado Medical Board concluded the vendor selection process for peer assistance services. Yesterday, the board selected the Colorado Physician Health Program. Coupled with a new policy (10-28) passed by the medical board in May that guarantees confidentiality in peer assistance services for most licensees seeking help, this marks an important milestone in continuing Colorado's robust peer assistance program to ensure patient safety and help care for the health needs of physicians.
CMS CEO Bryan Campbell, FAAMSE, sworn in as president of national association

A true believer and visionary for organized medicine, Colorado Medical Society Chief Executive Officer Bryan Campbell was sworn in as president of the American Association of Medical Society Executives, on July 20. During the AAMSE annual meeting, which began yesterday and runs through Thursday, July 23, he was also honored as a Louis J. Goodman, PhD, Recognized Fellow. Campbell's involvement in AAMSE complements and enhances his work as CMS CEO as the organization connects him to a network of leaders in the industry who share the most up-to-date knowledge of medical association management and best practices in improving the member experience.
